A 55 woman sentenced to seven months prison reprived by president Traian Basescu
The woman had been sentenced to five months prison for having pulled out a stake put there by an officer of the court. President Traian Băsescu signed today the reprieving law.
The woman was about to go to jail for not having respected a judge`s decision. Her neighbours from the village gathered in the street to protest against this decision of the court.
Marisca Chis got this sentence in october 2008 and she has already spent two weeks in prison. But she asked a three months adjournment and she was allowed to spend the winter holidays at home. In two days, she was to go back to the high security penitentiary in Baia Mare.
