Un exemplu care susţine petiţia gamerilor îl reprezintă jocul online Gears of War. Foarte mulţi români au cumpărat consola XBox 360 pentru a se juca online Gears of War pe XBox 360 de la Microsoft, dar când l-au accesat s-au ales cu una dintre erorile "this does not work for the following countries", "you need to live in one of the following countries to play" sau "this item is not available for your region".
