Sibiu mayor Klaus Johannis tackles the premier mandate issue with the parties that proposed him

The National-Liberal Party (PNL), the Social-Democrat Party (PSD) and the Hungarian minority party (UDMR) agreed on a technocrat government led by Klaus Johannis last night.

The head of PNL, Crin Antonescu, said there is a parliamentary majority at present and hopes that President Traian Basescu will act with responsibility, as he has the obligation to find a solution fast. 

The new government will have to assure fair elections and to reestablish the trust of the local and international economic environment and of social partners, deems the president of PSD, Mircea Geoana.

On the other hand, the vicepresident of the Democrat-Liberal Party (PDL), Gheorghe Flutur, announced PDL continues to sustain Emil Boc for the premier position, taking into consideration the reforms his government started and the fact that Boc is capable of bringing them to a close.

Flutur also mentioned the social-democrats followed a strategy when the ministries resigned from the government, to create chaos and political crisis. “They could have nominated an interior minister and the problem would have been closed, but PSD wanted to get here, to create a majority during the presidential election campaign, sacrificing a country for Geoana's interest,” Flutur concluded. 

He also mentioned the democrat-liberals are entitled to propose Emil Boc to lead the new Cabinet, as PDL has the largest number of parliamentary.
