The president of car importer Autoitalia, Herbert Stein, deems Romania's auto market will restart growing in the second half of 2010, after the peak of the economic crisis will be reached at year-end.

He believes importers will finish in the first months of 2010 the stocks cumulated after the record sales last year and they will start importing new cars afterwards.

The official also mentioned low-cost cars will face the crisis much easier and they will help companies to recover.

Autoitalia imports in Romania vehicles produced by Fiat, Fiat Professional, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Ssang Yong, Infiniti and Maserati, but also Honda motorcycles.

The company sold 5,000 units in the first nine months and aims to sell another 2,000 vehicles by year-end. It sold about 16,500 units last year.
