The national trade unions block (BNS) required the International Monetary Fund (IMF) not to grant the third installment within the external loan, as Romania\'s government failed to respect its commitments and also to give politicians a lesson, said the president of BNS, Dumitru Costin.

“We have to give the political class a lesson, for pushing Romania in this political crisis,” said Costin.

On the other hand, the vicepresident of Cartel Alfa union confederation, Petru Dandea, said the IMF representatives were unsatisfied that the three laws which the government should have adopted so far did not enter into force yet and that the Fund is trying to find solutions to solve this situation.

The Cabinet promised to complete the single salary law, to pass the revised pension law and to finish the fiscal responsibility law and the enforcing plan.

IMF still foresees Romania\'s economy will grow half percentage point next year and 1.5 percent in 2011, according to Dandea.

The trade unions representatives said they also asked the IMF representatives to accept the retirement age to increase only to 63, not 65 like in the current shape of the single pension bill.
