The designated premier Liviu Negoita said he has in mind a government of national coalition and that he will begin negotiations immediately, as he wants to present the Parliament a list with a new Cabinet on Monday.

President Traian Basescu said he named Negoita to form a new government as he answers to the majority's demands, fulfilling Klaus Johannis' criteria, but also as he is the representative of a party that will take responsibility on the governance. 

The vicepresident of the Social-Democrat Party (PSD), Dan Nica, deems Negoita designation for the prime-minister seat is “a big mistake” and mentioned the president's choice shows his “true intentions”: “anything for the second term, sacrificing Romania's interests”. 

The vicepresident of the National Liberal Party (PNL), Ludovic Orban, said the liberals will vote against a government led by Liviu Negoita and concluded by saying they have nothing to talk about with him. 

PSD, PNL, the Hungarian minority party (UDMR), the Conservative Party (PC) and the minorities proposed Sibiu mayor Klaus Johannis for the premier position ever since the Boc government was dismissed by the Parliament. 

The five parties account for about 65 percent of the parliamentary. 

Traian Basescu appointed Lucian Croitoru for the prime-minister seat on October 15, two days after the government led by Emil Boc was dismissed following a no-confidence vote. However, Croitoru failed to receive the Parliament's approval for the government's helm on Thursday, following 250 votes against and 189 favorable.
