President Traian Basescu inks decree to organize referendum for unicameral Parliament on November 22

He mentioned the Parliament rejected his request to organize the referendum with the presidential elections, but reminded the institution has a consultative role in what concerns this matter.

Romania currently has a bicameral Parliament, formed of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies. It counts 471 parliamentary, of which 137 senators and 334 members of the lower house.
