President Traian Basescu on Thursday participated in an international conference concerning Libya, which took place in Paris. The head of state highlighted that Romania is willing to participate in the reconstruction of Libya’s democracy and economy and supports the creation of a sovereign state, said the source.
The international meeting held Thursday in Paris was convened by French President Nicolas Sarkozy and gave the new Libyan authorities the opportunity to present their needs and expectations, reads the press release.
Discussions focused on the reconstruction of post-Gaddafi Libya, on national reconciliation and future democratic elections.
