The broker should be announced in the first half of October, said Victor Cazana, head of the ministry’s privatization office OPSPI.
Cazana didn’t say when the actual sale will take place, but mentioned once the deal is concluded, the ministry will prepare a secondary offering in natural gas company Transgaz (TGN.RO), as well as an initial offering in natural gas producer Romgaz Medias.
The deals are part of a larger privatization strategy through which Romania wants to sell minority stakes in key energy and transport companies, including Hidroelectrica, Nuclearelectrica, OMV Petrom and Tarom.
