“Realistically speaking, I don’t think (that the deals will be completed), but we’re doing everything possible to launch the offers this year,” said Victor Cazana, head of the ministry’s privatization office OPSPI.
Earlier today, Cazana said the ministry would select a broker to help with a secondary offering of 15% in Transelectrica in the first half of October. Once the deal is completed, the ministry will prepare the listing of similar stakes in Transgaz and natural gas producer Romgaz, he added.
The ministry owns stakes of over 70% in the three companies. Transelectrica and Transgaz are already traded in Bucharest.
At around 11:50 local time, Transelectrica’s shares traded down 1.49% at RON18.5, while Transgaz was losing 3.12% at RON192.8, amid a mixed market. (EUR1=RON4.2429)
