Maintenance and repair works declined 10.8% on the month in July, while capital repairs decreased by 13%. New constructions fell 4.1% in July from the previous month.
The data are adjusted for number of working days and seasonality factors.
On an annual basis, adjusted construction works rose 12.4% in July, fueled by two-digit growth in the capital repairs and new construction sectors, the data showed.
Capital repair works were up 32.2% on the year, while new constructions increased by 17%. Maintenance works, on the other hand, fell 11.6% in July from the year-earlier month.
In the January-July period, Romanian construction works decreased by 2.2% on the year, due to declines in the new constructions and maintenance works sectors.
In unadjusted data, construction works fell 10.8% on the month in July, but were up 13.6% compared with the same month of 2010.
