Moreover, 120 new cases of swine flu were confirmed since yesterday, of which 46 in Bucharest and 11 in the county of Mures. Some 6,061 Romanians caught the virus until now.

The national vaccination campaign against the A/H1N1 virus began on November 26. The Health Ministry decided to use the first doses for the pupils and students, the medical staff and the police officers working at the boundary.

The ministry then expanded the immunization campaign to the population presenting risk degree, as most of the people who died of swine flu suffered from different diseases that got worse because of the infection with the A/H1N1 virus.

Some 210,000 people were vaccinated against the swine flu by January 3, according to the representatives of the Health Ministry, but requests boosted about ten times since then.
