"Negotiations can be resumed anytime, anything can be renegotiated, but is a matter of time and we have to tell how we will reduce public spendings," said Basescu after meeting the government, the unions and the employers.

The chief of state also mentioned this is the first time the accord is given in advance to unions, employers and political parties for observations and that the additional letter to IMF has to be tackled in CES.
The head of Cartel Alfa union, Bogdan Hossu, said after discussions with the Executive, the unions and the employers, that President Basescu asked the additional letter to IMF to not be validated by the government until is not discussed in CES.
Hossu said the document will be tackled in CES on Friday at 10 a.m.

If the additional letter with IMF is changed following unions and employers' proposals, this will be rephrased and an IMF mission should come back to Romania to discuss on the new reading of the document, the union leader concluded.
