Fatuloiu, Falca or Frunzaverde could take over the Interior Ministry

The chief of public order within the Interior Ministry (MAI), Dan Valentin Fatuloiu, and the democrat-liberal vicepresidents Gheorghe Falca and Sorin Frunzaverde are some of the names suggested within the ministry to take over the interior minister seat after Vasile Blaga resigned.

Dan Fatuloiu could be nominated for the interior minister position as President Traian Basescu seems to have insisted for him to get the position he is currently having. Sorin Frunzaverde, the president of the county council Caras-Severin, was defense minister during March-December 2000 and October 2006-April 2007.

Another option discussed within the Interior Ministry would be for Frunzaverde to take over the Defense Ministry and Gabriel Oprea to become the Interior Minister. However, this solution could not prove out as the democrat-liberals do not want to give up MAI. Also, Cristian Diaconescu said the National Union for Romania's Progress (UNPR) did not make any proposal for the vacant minister seat.

The mayor of Arad, Gheorghe Falca, and the former Defense Minister, Mihai Stanisoara, are another two names that could be suggested for the interior minister position.
