Cele 13 piese au fost selectate de un juriu format din 11 membri - compozitori, interpreţi, profesionişti de radio şi Tv dintr-un număr total de 84.
Este pentru prima oară în istoria Eurovision când Selecţia Naţională - transmisă în direct pe TVR 1 şi TVR Internaţional - se desfăşoară în noaptea de Revelion.
